Spiritual Growth Plan

What is a Spiritual Growth Plan?

We plan for everything that is important to us: Work, vacation, house renovations, meal planning, and working out.

Why not create as intentional a plan for our spiritual growth?

Growing to be more like Christ is God’s plan. Everything in your life can be used by Him to grow you in your faith. At Eastpoint, this is our great expectation and hope. We anticipate this growth in our lives. Growth in faith is not an optional add-on for the years where we have time. It’s the norm for every believer!

Let’s Start Simple

Pick just one of our seven Discipleship Values

Complete your spiritual growth plan based on that value. It may not seem like much, but think of the cumulative effect of these plans over the next several years. These will add up! Let’s keep it simple and go slow. Trees don’t mature in a day. Neither do we.

Growth Plan Overview

Your Spiritual Growth Plan has two parts, designed to answer two questions:

  1. What is God saying to me? (Growth Area)

  2. What am I going to do about it? (Growth Step)

We ask everyone who is planning to complete a Spiritual Growth Plan to take a day to spend seeking the Lord in prayer and reflecting on these two questions. (Day of Reflection)

  • We want to regularly take time for personal reflection with the Lord to pause and reflect on our own journey of discipleship, and ask God, “How am I doing?

We’re calling this a Day of Reflection.

By slowing down and pausing to examine ourselves spiritually, we’re inviting the Lord to show us where He wants us to grow and inviting Him to transform us.

Find out more about how to take your Day of Reflection here.

  • What is God saying to you?

We have painted a picture of a mature disciple as a follower of Jesus who values and embodies seven things. Spend some time in prayer considering which of the seven values the Lord wants to work on in your life this year? Why is that?

  • What are you going to do about it?

How will we grow? Healthy growth is holistic growth. So we want to come up with a handful of Growth Steps that address our Knowing, Being, and Doing (otherwise known as our Head, Hearts, and Hands).

  • Day of Reflection

Before we begin to develop a plan for our spiritual growth, we want to hear from the Lord. We believe that a Day of Reflection is a powerful and meaningful way to do that. Find out more below.
